I am a SPS parent and own a cooking school  (commercial kitchen in Maple Leaf,  N Seattle) and do summer cooking camps. I have had lots of local kids who take my classes and camps.  The camps are set up like adult cooking classes and students really learn important kitchen skills (recipes, knife skills etc.) while being independent, cooperative and creative, (they also have a blast!)
