Ms. Merrilyn Carpenter, Inclusion Teacher

Introduction
Hi!  My name is Merrilyn Carpenter and I am Montlake Elementary's new Inclusion Special Education teacher.  I have been with Montlake on and off for four years now and love working at this school.

My Philosophy
I work with all children, grades K-5, who come to us with special educational needs.  While helping these children to become successful in their general education classrooms, I find it best to work with all students as needed.  I also work with teachers and staff to accomodate and support students to do their best learning in our wonderful environment here at Montlake.  I am also looking forward to team teaching in the near future.  I believe teaching should be fun and I also believe all students can learn when given a safe environment to do so.  I am looking forward to the 2009-2010 school year and all the challenges and surprises Montlake holds while still remaining the friendly, warm, community school that it is!
