Dear Montlake Elementary Families and Staff,
Thank you
for your contribution of time and effort to the Montlake School. Your generosity has had direct impact
on all Montlake students. Because you
work closely with Montlake students, staff, and families, we would like to ask
that you share your experiences with others in the form of
photos and stories. The photos will be used on the school website and the
spring Auction slideshow that we create every year. The story will be
posted on the Happenings blog along with a single picture of the outing.
If you are volunteering, please do
these simple steps:
Photos:
- Bring a camera and start
snapping
- Email the web team to receive information on where to upload photos (webmaster@montlakeschool.net) - PLEASE be selective, as we are interested in the a handful of
compelling photos.
Note: We will adhere to the District Web Publishing Guidelines when posting photos with students, as well as the responses on the
Website Photo Permission Form. Please fill out and submit the form, if you have not already done so. Thank you.
Happenings
Story (to be posted on http://montlakeschool.org/Happenings.aspx):
- Coordinate with other parents to decide who will submit the story - we'd appreciate one story per outing/event
- Email the story to the web team. The length should be about 3-5 sentences long. (webmaster@montlakeschool.net)
“Photo and Story Ops” to get your creative juices flowing!
- Field Trips – If you are chaperoning
a field trip, bring a camera and take some of those “ah-ha” moments. Coordinate with
other parents and submit a short story.
- PTA-Sponsored Events (e.g. Pizza
& Math Night) – Take a snapshot of students noodling math problems.
- Classrooms – If you volunteer in the
classrooms, take photo of candid shots of our students and a story to go along
with it. Great things are
happening in each classroom, multi-media, Junior Great Books, Art, Greenhouse, show-and-tell, and
so much more!
- Enrichment classes - Chess Club, Math Challenge, Mandarin, Spanish, French, etc.!
- Student Activities - Penny Harvest, Student Council, Green Team, etc.
- Parent Volunteers in Action – It doesn’t
have to be all about kids. There
are so many families who generously give their time to make a positive impact
on our students. They come in the
form of classroom time, fundraisers (Husky parking, Evergreen Sale, Auction,
Greenhouse Fundraising), writing grants, organizing field trip checks and writing
deposit slips, etc. etc. When you
get a chance, take a pretty picture of those folks, too, please!
- And plenty, plenty more!
Thank you!
