Introduction
Hi.  My name is Vicki Young and I am a Team 2 teacher.  I have a master's degree in special education from U.W.  I taught special education my first 6 years.  When I came to Montlake I became a regular education teacher.  I have been in Team 2 for the past 15 years.

I am married to a teacher and drag racer.  My husband, Al, retired from Roosevelt High School in the spring of 2008.  I have two children.  My son is 28, married, and has a son.  I am going to be a grandmother to twins in February!  My daughter is 26, married, and has a daughter.  Neither of my children are school teachers, but do teach.  My son is a basketball coach and my daughter is a musician, artist, and piano teacher.  My children attended Laurelhurst Elementary, Eckstein Middle School, and Roosevelt High School.  We moved to Shoreline 3 years ago and we love it.  I have a dog named Jackson and a cat named Saribella.  I love chocolate.  My favorite color is purple and my lucky number  is 7.  I am a triathlete, dragon boat racer, and cancer survivor.

I feel lucky to have chosen a profession that brings me such joy.  I would not be doing anything else.  I like being  part of the most exciting and important aspect of our society, the children!  There is much excitement and energy around Montlake this fall and I am looking forward to this school year.  Please stop and introduce yourselves.
